The incident happened on Saturday, March 23, when damage was found at a home in Pelham Manor on Shore View Circle, according to village officials.
Firefighters soon responded to the residence and evacuated the home after detecting a strong gas odor. Crews also discovered that the residence's chimney was pulled away from the structure and that the foundation was compromised, officials said.
After the damage was found, Con Edison crews arrived to make repairs.
The damage was a direct result of the gas leak and was not caused by heavy rain brought by the weekend's storm, according to the village.
